Dear church family,
As we come to the close of another year in the life of St George’s, we want to thank you sincerely for your prayers, generosity, and faithfulness. We are grateful for the way you continue to support this parish and one another.
Our Annual Meeting will take place this Sunday, February 1, immediately following the 10:00 am service. The AMP packet is included below in the downloads section for your review ahead of the meeting. As we prepare to gather, here are a few reminders in keeping with diocesan canons to help guide our time together.
All are welcome to attend the Annual Meeting. Voting is open to baptized parishioners who are at least 16 years of age and who regularly participate in the life of the parish. Regular participation includes in-person attendance at worship or receiving the ministry of the church in other ways, aside from livestreamed or previously recorded services.
At the AMP, parishioners adopt the annual parish budget rather than approve it. The budget has already been reviewed and approved by Parish Council before being brought to the parish for adoption. Parishioners may vote to adopt or reject the budget, but changes to the budget itself cannot be made at the meeting. If the budget were not adopted, Parish Council would determine next steps, including whether to prepare a revised budget for a future meeting.
While not part of the formal agenda, we invite everyone to bring finger foods or simple treats to share as we gather. Something easy to enjoy with a coffee and a report in hand is perfect. If you’re planning to bring something, please let us know at info@stgeorgebanff.com. Thank you for your generosity and hospitality.
We look forward to being together this Sunday as we reflect on the year past and look ahead in hope and prayer. God bless you, and thank you for being part of this community.
With gratitude,
The Ministry Team at
St George’s-in-the-Pines Anglican Church, Banff
