The Fourth Sunday of Lent15 March at 10am Though we often say that beauty is only skin deep, our daily lives can tell a different story. We instinctively notice what is outward, and we attribute truth and sometimes even reliability to these qualities: confidence, success, attractiveness, eloquence, or influence. These often shape our first impressions and even our judgments. Yet, what is immediately apparent is rarely the whole truth. This Sunday at St. George’s, we are invited to understand that we call “beauty" is not merely a surface quality or a set of characteristics we can readily perceive, but something that is planted into our hearts and flies against the expectations of our world. Beauty and truth are not simply the sum of a person’s qualities, but a deeper reality that God knows and is forming day to day. Join us this Sunday at 10am for worship, reflection, and conversation, followed by coffee and something sweet to share.
