Following Jesus in Real Life

Following Jesus in Real Life

1 June at 10am

How does a life-changing message work itself differently?

This Sunday at St. George's, we're exploring when Paul encounters both spiritual oppression and hard-hearted power. One needs deliverance. The other needs humility. Both are met not with formulas, but with boldness, compassion, and faith in the darkest hour. This week, we'll learn that the Gospel meets people in radically different conditions, but always with the same love of Jesus.

Join us Sunday at 10am for worship and stay after for coffee and connection. There’s a place for you here.

Celebrant:

Rev. Seth Enriquez

Readings:

Acts 16:16–40; John 17:20–26 (Read now)

Hymns:

All Creatures of our God and King (Listen now)

Come Thou Fount (Listen now)

Holy God We Praise Thy Name (Listen now)

Be Unto Your Name (Listen now)

John 6 (Listen now)

Known: Faithful Even When It Costs

Known: Faithful Even When It Costs

Following Jesus In Real Life - Sunday, May 25, 2025

What if the person you are meant to share Jesus with is already listening?

In this message from Acts 16, Rev. Seth reflects on Lydia’s story and how God is often at work before we arrive. It’s a reminder that evangelism is less about pressure and more about being present and open in faith.

Because being known with Jesus might matter more than being safe without Him.

WHAT WE'RE READING, LISTENING TO, AND WATCHING

Edifying content that has deeply informed our work this season!

- The Limits of Liturgy is a thoughtful look at how liturgy shapes us for better or worse and why simply following tradition is not the same as being formed by Christ.

- The Screwtape Letters C.S. Lewis' classic that helps us recognize the subtle ways we’re drawn away from God, offering sharp insight into spiritual struggle through wit, wisdom, and piercing truth.

- Wes Huff does it again. Watch this excellent interview from Christian apologist Wes Huff as he shares on the truth of Christianity on the FLAGRANT podcast.

- The Dark Night of Disenchantment offers a thoughtful reflection on finding God's presence not in extraordinary signs, but within the ordinary and disenchanted moments of our daily lives.

- Why We Doubt Everything is a thoughtful reflection on why Gen Z struggles with trust, and it invites us to consider how faith can still flourish in a culture of constant doubt.

 - These excerpts from David Bently Hart's The Beauty of the Infinite invite us to contemplate how the boundless love of God is revealed in Christ's suffering and resurrection, offering a transformative perspective on human brokenness and divine grace.

 - Faith Torn Down to the Studs offers a compassionate guide for those supporting loved ones through faith deconstruction, emphasizing the importance of empathy and patience in navigating doubt.
