The Third Sunday after Pentecost

The Third Sunday after Pentecost

22 June at 10am

We remember the stories from Sunday school. Saul. David. Solomon. These kings were chosen. They were blessed. And they fell hard. Each one shows us something true about ourselves. The desire to fit in. They dread waiting, and the weight of compromise and disobedience pulls them. But through it all, God stays in the story. He does not walk away when His people fail. This summer, we will walk with the kings of Israel through power and promise, failure and grace, and discover how God speaks through lives marked by both oil and ashes.

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 am, all are welcome. There will be a reception after the service with coffee, snacks, good conversation, and even joy. We would love to see you.

Celebrant:

Rev. Seth Enriquez

1 Samuel 8:4–9, 19–22; 9:1–2; 10:1–9; John 18:33–37

What a warm sunny day, and an evening packed with smiley faces we had yesterday! Thank you again to everyone who came out, on this bright June afternoon, to share a meal with us. Many thanks to Chef Paul Brown for treating us to a delicious pork/beef and vegan Shepherd's Pie, accompanied with a creamy coleslaw and garden salad. We served a total of 256 meals! Thank you so much, Paul. The food was to-die for!

We also received $236.10 in cash donations and $75.00 online, for a total of $311.10. Thank you to everyone for all of your support, and cheerful community energy!

With love,

WHAT WE'RE READING, LISTENING TO, AND WATCHING

Edifying content that has deeply informed our work this season!

- Francis Collins, the scientist who led the Human Genome Project, tells the story of how he went from atheism to faith through science, beauty, and an honest search for meaning.

- The Limits of Liturgy is a thoughtful look at how liturgy shapes us for better or worse and why simply following tradition is not the same as being formed by Christ.

- The Screwtape Letters C.S. Lewis' classic that helps us recognize the subtle ways we’re drawn away from God, offering sharp insight into spiritual struggle through wit, wisdom, and piercing truth.

The Three & The One

The Three & The One

Sunday, June 15, 2025

Have you ever wondered what it really means to say that God is love? Not just loving but love itself, as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in perfect communion?

This Trinity Sunday, guest preacher Rev. Howard Thornton invites us into the deep beauty and mystery of the triune God. This is not just theology for textbooks. It is an invitation to a relationship that shapes how we live, how we love, and how we see the world.
